Being Human
The BEING HUMAN series is produced in two talks, with the option of having one or both talks supplied.
‘The Single Story’ explores the topic of poverty, addressing concepts generated through our perception of charity, development aid and ‘voluntourism’.
‘By Design’ explores the topic of social construction in product design. How can something as everyday as an iron board for example, influence roles within the home? Can design interfere with our identity…career opportunities…or even our survival outcomes?
“The danger with stereotypes is not that they are untrue, it’s that they are incomplete. They make one story become the only story”.
– Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
Stereotypes | Empathy | Equality | Social Values
