This programme can be tailored to run across a
one or two day timetable, should you wish to
expand on the work covered.
With each student working in a team of 5-8, this programme sets students four main ‘missions’ surrounding the context of building a sustainable development plan for a project in Tanzania. Each mission is designed to test team work and critical thinking with the aim of meeting specific briefs: examining the cause and effect of social issues, the charity sector, U.N Millennium Development Goals and longer-term economic objectives.
Students are given a number of different materials during each mission which have been carefully selected and designed from our first-hand work experience in East Africa.
Before the Grand Final presentations in the final hour of the day, students a taught a number of Presentation Survival Skills designed to enable even the most nervous to give public speaking a go!
Students must utilise and practice a range of soft skills (taught as the ’employability skills’) throughout the day, ensuring that their team produces the best overall development plan presentation in the Grand Final of the day.
